Figures are programme targets, not results. Bridge250 Zimbabwe is a proposed concept, subject to funding, partner agreement and U.S. Embassy approval.

A founding belief

The distance between talent and opportunity should not be permanent.

Young Zimbabweans are not short on ambition or ideas. They are short on structured access to the tools, teachers and networks that turn ideas into work, and work into impact. Bridge250 is a small, focused answer to that gap.

Why Gweru, Why now

A trusted public space, at the right moment.

American Corner Gweru is a proven civic and learning venue in the Midlands. It already brings young people into contact with new ideas. Bridge250 is designed to sit on top of that foundation and multiply what it can offer.
A

A generation ready to build

Zimbabwean youth are digitally curious, entrepreneurial and hungry for practical learning that leads somewhere.

A

A trusted civic venue

American Corner Gweru is a familiar, safe and welcoming space with the credibility to convene diverse participants.

A

A moment for deeper exchange

As America marks 250 years, there is a meaningful opportunity for a two-way conversation grounded in ideas, not symbols.

More than workshops

Participants leave with something real.

Every pathway is designed so that a participant walks away with a tangible output, a stronger network and a clearer next step. Not just attendance.

Skills

Practical, portable and grounded in real work.

Relationships

A trusted peer circle that outlasts the session.

Outputs

A prototype, pitch, essay, film or event they can point to.

Confidence

The quiet certainty that comes from having shipped something.

Continuity

A path into the alumni network and future opportunities.

Origin

Born from a belief shaped in Chitungwiza, piloted in Gweru and designed to travel across Zimbabwe.

The creative vision for Bridge250 draws inspiration from Taz Mukoko, a Zimbabwean digital builder who grew up in Chitungwiza and later built a career in technology and digital transformation in the United Kingdom. The programme exists because where a young person begins should never determine how far they can go.

A programme built to continue

The pilot is the beginning, not the end.

Bridge250 is designed so that its curriculum, alumni network and digital resources continue after the 12 months, and can be adapted for future community pilots.

Reusable curriculum

A facilitator toolkit that any partner venue can pick up and run.

Alumni network

A peer community that keeps participants learning together.

Future pilots

A carefully designed expansion model, subject to future funding.

One opportunity

The bridge begins with one opportunity.

If you are a young Zimbabwean, a facilitator, a mentor or an institution that wants to contribute, we want to hear from you as we prepare the pilot.
